Successful
closing of transaction with Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad

Switzerland, April 30, 2008. - After receiving the necessary approval of
the Ministry of International Trade & Industry of Malaysia, Barry Callebaut,
the world's leading manufacturer of high-quality cocoa and chocolate products,
announced today the closing of its acquisition of a 60%- stake in KLK Cocoa
in Malaysia from Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (www.klkcp.com.my).
KLK
Cocoa will now change its name to Barry Callebaut Malaysia Sdn Bhd. The
experienced management team of KLK Cocoa, under the leadership of BY Ng,
will transfer to Barry Callebaut Malaysia.
The
acquisition of a stake in KLK Cocoa gives Barry Callebaut a strong basis
to further expand its footprint in Asia-Pacific, a region offering significant
growth potential.

has acquired a 49% stake in Biolands, Africa's largest exporter of certified
organic cocoa based in Tanzania, after purchasing 100% of Biolands' top-grade
cocoa for the past eight years.

to grow sales out of China by six times by 2012

Switzerland/Suzhou, China, (January 9, 2008) - Barry Callebaut AG, the
world's leading manufacturer of high-quality cocoa and chocolate products,
today inaugurated its new state-of-the-art chocolate factory and its 8th
Chocolate Academy, both located about 100 km west of Shanghai in Suzhou,
People's Republic of China.
The
factory, with a total production capacity of 25,000 metric tonnes a year
and built in the record time of only 12 months, will enable Barry Callebaut
to move closer to its growing customer base in Asia-Pacific, in particular
in China. Barry Callebaut's chocolate sales in the region rose around 20%
in 2006/07. Barry Callebaut has been present in Asia-Pacific with a chocolate
factory in Singapore since 1997. The Singapore factory ran at full capacity
in the past fiscal year, which limited the company's ability to capture
the region's growth potential

Barry Callebaut finalizes sale of U.S. subsidiary

of Brach's sale to Farley's & Sathers Candy Company Inc.

Switzerland, November 15, 2007 - Barry Callebaut AG, the world's leading
manufacturer of high-quality cocoa and chocolate products, today said it
completed the sale of its U.S. sugar candy business Brach's to Farley's
& Sathers Candy Company Inc., as announced in September. The sale included
all of the business and all assets of Brach's and its affiliates, including
three factories. The two parties agreed not to disclose any financial details
of the transaction.

tonnes production capacity from Nestlé SA in Italy and France to
capture growth opportunities in the fast-growing Mediterranean region.
The
proposed transaction also foresees Nestlé to enter into a long-term
agreement with Barry Callebaut for the supply of liquid chocolate and the
production of some Nestlé consumer products.
