Banco Espanol de Credito
SA (Banesto) is a Spain-based financial institution principally engaged
in the banking sector. The Bank’s business is structured in three divisions:
Retail Banking, Company Banking and Wholesale Banking. Its services and
products include saving accounts, fixed-term deposits, financial assessment,
debit and credit cards, commercial and consumer loans, mortgages and pension
plans, among others. The Bank is a parent of Grupo Banesto, a group that
comprises a number of entities active in the financial, insurance, real
estate, industrial and commercial sectors. The Bank operates a network
of branches and automated teller machines (ATMs) located nationwide, as
well as it has foreign branches established in the United States, Mexico,
the Dominican Republic and Chile. The Bank’s majority shareholder is Banco
Santander SA, with 88.21% of its interests.
