de Telecomunicaçoes e Multimedia is a media group operating in four
areas:
- owns and broadcasts pay
TV channels (56.5%): 1.5 million subscribers at the end of 2004: 1.1 million
for cable TV and 0.4 million for satellite TV;
- press and radio broadcasting
(21.1%): publishes newspapers and magazines (primarily Jornal de Noticias,
Diario de Noticias, and 24 Horas) and operates the radio station TSF;
- Internet access services
(11.4%): 315,000 subscribers;
- movie theater operation
and multimedia product publishing (11%): owns 148 movie theaters in Portugal.
