Schweitzer
announces one of the most significant realignments of the recycling industry
in Europe
An article from 29.03.2011
INTERSEROH SE:
Results for 2010 beyond expectations
- EBT plus of EUR 42 million
to EUR 45.7 million
- Turnover increase by
53 percent to EUR 1.9 billion
- Cooperation with ALBA
contributed to positive result
Cologne. The listed environmental
services provider and raw materials trader INTERSEROH SE concluded the
fiscal year 2010 with earnings well above expectations.
At the press conference
on annual results in Cologne, chief executive Dr. Axel Schweitzer said:
"We have emerged from the global economic crisis and achieved the second
best result in our 20-year history in 2010.”
As the company announced
today at the publication of the annual financial statements, earnings before
interest and tax (EBIT) for fiscal year 2010 amounted to around EUR 62.6
million (previous year: EUR 22.6 million).
Year on year, revenues
increased by around 53 percent, to EUR 1.9 billion (2009: EUR 1.3 billion).
Earnings before tax (EBT)
rose from EUR 3.8 million in 2009 to the current level of EUR 45.7 million
for the recently concluded 2010 fiscal year.
Axel Schweitzer continues:
"The increase in earnings of almost EUR 42 million – in spite of one-off
effects – even exceeded our own expectations. All three segments of Interseroh
Group grew very strongly in the course of the past year. In the light of
the increasing demand for steel and metal scrap, high-quality secondary
plastics and recovered paper, we benefited particularly from our broad
network of locations and trading centers both at home and abroad."
