 HYPO REAL ESTATE
HRX.DE  Indice: DAX

Hypo Real Estate Group was formed by HypoVereinsbank’s demerging of its commercial real estate financing activities. This involved spinning off German as well as international units, all of which were then incorporated in Hypo Real Estate Group and provided with a new corporate strategy. Hypo Real Estate Group today operates in complete independence from HypoVereinsbank, possessing a transparent corporate structure with clearly assigned responsibilities.
Hypo Real Estate Group is led by Hypo Real Estate Holding AG, a public company with headquarters in Munich, Germany, which is responsible for strategic guidance and acts as a gateway to equity markets.
The subsidiaries grouped below the holding's umbrella are legally and operatively separate from each other. The business goals they pursue, however, are coordinated inside the Group. Hypo Real Estate Bank International, for its part, has charge of the Group's entire international business, while Hypo Real Estate Bank concentrates on business in Germany, and Hypo Public Finance Bank deals with the business areas of public finance and capital markets.

Holding AG has welcomed the agreement between the German Government, the German Central Bank, the Financial Regulator BaFin and senior representatives of the German banking and insurance sector regarding credit lines for Hypo Real Estate Group. “We are very grateful for the support of all the parties. This solution ensures that Hypo Real Estate Group is stabilised, will have access to sufficient liquidity even in an ongoing financial crisis, and can continue to operate”, Georg Funke, CEO, stated on Monday morning in Munich.
The Ministry for Finance stated earlier that the finance sector will grant Hypo Real Estate Group an additional secured credit line of €15bn in
addition to the €35bn already offered jointly by the German Government and finance sector. This increase became necessary as a result of the intensification of the financial crisis during the past week. The Government is providing a guarantee of up to €35 bn.
