ANGELES - Feb. 3, 2009 - Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) reported
a fourth quarter loss from continuing operations of $2.5 billion and a
2008 loss from continuing operations of $1.3 billion driven by a non-cash,
after-tax charge of $3.1 billion for impairment of goodwill in accordance
with Statement of Financial Accounting Standards (SFAS) 142 "Goodwill and
Other Intangible Assets."
Fourth
quarter 2008 sales increased 4 percent to $9.2 billion from $8.8 billion
in the 2007 fourth quarter. 2008 sales increased 6 percent to $33.9 billion
from $31.8 billion in 2007. Cash from operations for the 2008 fourth quarter
increased to $1 billion from $734 million in the 2007 fourth quarter, and
cash from operations for the year increased to a record $3.2 billion from
$2.9 billion in 2007. Cash from operations, for both the fourth quarter
and total year, was reduced by discretionary pension pre-funding of $200
million in both 2008 and 2007.

underlying fourth quarter operating results were outstanding and represent
a strong finish to the year. We begin 2009 with a $78 billion dollar backlog,
the highest in Northrop Grumman's history, and a tribute to the dedication
and talent of our 120,000 employees," said Ronald D. Sugar, Northrop Grumman
chairman and chief executive officer.

Fourth
quarter 2008 adjusted earnings from continuing operations increased 15
percent to $524 million, or $1.57 per diluted share, from $457 million,
or $1.32 per diluted share, in the fourth quarter of 2007. For 2008, earnings
from continuing operations before the goodwill impairment charge was comparable
to the prior year period at $1.8 billion, or $5.21 per diluted share in
2008, compared with $5.18 per diluted share in 2007.

Grumman to Provide Finnish Air Force F-18s with LITENING Advanced Targeting
System

third-generation LITENING Advanced Targeting (AT) system for its FiAF F-18
Mid-life Update 2 program.
Northrop
Grumman's LITENING AT system is a self-contained, multi-sensor weapon-aiming
system that enables fighter pilots to detect, acquire, auto-track and identify
targets for highly accurate delivery of both conventional and precision-guided
weapons. LITENING AT features advanced image processing for target identification;
coordinate generation for GPS weapons; a 640 x 512 pixel forward-looking
infrared sensor for effective day and night operations; a new 1,024 x 1,024
pixel charge-coupled device television sensor; a new dual waveband infrared
laser designator and range finder; a laser spot tracker; an infrared laser
marker; and an optional air-to-ground data link and digital video recorder.

Grumman Opens U.K. Advanced Technology Demonstration Centre in Fareham
LONDON,
Feb. 12, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC)
today opened a new U.K. office facility and advanced technology demonstration
centre in Fareham, Hampshire. The new facility, formally opened by Jerry
Agee, president of Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector, will provide
improved accommodation for the company's Mission Systems Europe subsidiary
and will include a state-of-the-art collaborative demonstration environment
for planning, modeling and simulation of its advanced technology systems.

in our plan for continued expansion and invested in our most prestigious

Northrop
Grumman Awarded $104 Million Contract to Equip NATO NE-3A Aircraft with
Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures Systems
ROLLING
MEADOWS, Ill., Dec. 11, 2006 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation
(NYSE:NOC) has been awarded a $104.6 million contract to outfit 17 NATO
AWACS aircraft with the company's Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures
(LAIRCM) systems.
Under
the terms of the contract with the U.S. Air Force's Electronic Systems
Center on behalf of the NATO Airborne Early Warning and Control Program
Management Organization, Northrop Grumman will commence LAIRCM system deliveries
in 2007, with final deliveries expected in 2009.
Integration
of the LAIRCM system on the NE-3A aircraft will provide NATO with the latest
generation of infrared countermeasures technology, providing warfighters
and high-value AWACS aircraft protection against man portable missile threats
in operational theater
