Founded in 1849, Ducommun
Incorporated is the oldest company in California. Evolving from a store
opened by Charles Ducommun in Los Angeles during the California Gold Rush,
the company assisted in the birth of the aerospace industry in Southern
California by providing aircraft aluminum to companies such as Lockheed

to serve the aerospace industry by manufacturing components and assemblies
for commercial aircraft, military aircraft and space programs through its
two business units, Ducommun Aerostructures and Ducommun Technologies.
Commercial aircraft programs include the Boeing 717, 737NG, 747, 757, 767
and 777, Airbus Industries A330 and A340, Bombardier business and regional
jets, and the Embraer 145 and 170/190. Military programs include the Boeing
C-17 and F-18, Lockheed Martin F-16, various Sikorsky, Bell, Boeing and
Augusta helicopter programs, and various aircraft and shipboard electronics
programs. Space programs include the Space Shuttle external tank, and various
commercial and military space launch and satellite programs.
