California Water Service
Group ("Cal Water") is a holding company that was formed in 1997. It is
a Delaware corporation and the parent company of California Water Service
Company ("California Water"), Washington Water Service Company ("Washington
Water"), New Mexico Water Service Company ("New Mexico Water") and CWS
Utility Services. The four subsidiary companies provide regulated and non-regulated
water service to more than 2 million people in 98 communities. The Company’s
common stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "CWT."
California Water was organized
in 1926 and is the largest investor-owned water utility in the western
United States and third largest in the nation. It provides water utility
services to 435,000 customers through 25 operating districts located throughout
the state.
Formed in 1999 with the
acquisitions of Harbor Water Company and South Sound Utility Company, Washington
Water is the largest investor-owned water utility in Washington. It serves
14,000 regulated customers near Tacoma and Olympia and an additional 2,300
customers through operating agreements with owners of other water systems.
