The Group's principal activities are supplying clean water, treating and disposing waste water. The Group provides water and waste water services to more than 4.7 million people and 140,000 businesses. The Regulated Water Services supplies more than 1.2 billion litres of water to homes and businesses in Yorkshire. This division operates a waste water network and treatment facilities ensuring that the region's domestic and industrial waste is returned safely to the environment. The Service Operations manages non-regulated water and waste water contract operations providing services under four waste water treatment works in Aberdeenshire. It also provides water and waste water services to more than 1,000 Ministry of Defence sites in the Midlands, Wales and the south west. The Keyland Developments is responsible for managing, developing and disposing surplus property assets, either on its own or in partnership with outside organisations.
