On 11th September 2002, Hartford Group plc announced the completion of the acquisition of Jamies Bars plc and the successful raising of £1.4m of new equity in a difficult market. The acquisition marks a key event for both companies, with the clear intention of management to build the new, enlarged group based on the strengths of both individual companies, whilst also reaping the benefits of scale, with the aim to become better than either company alone.
