Debenhams plc (Debenhams) is a department store with a mix of own brands, including designers at debenhams, and third-party brands. It has presence in womenswear, menswear, home, health and beauty, accessories, lingerie and childrenswear. The Company, along with its subsidiaries, is engaged in the sale of fashion clothing and accessories, cosmetics and products for use in the home. As of August 29, 2009, the Company had 154 stores including 10 Desire by debenhams stores, across the United Kingdom and Ireland with approximately 11 million square feet of trading space. In addition, Debenhams had two international franchise stores in 17 countries outside the United Kingdom and Ireland. In January 2010, the Company completed the acquisition of A/S Th. Wessell & Vett, Magasin du Nord.
