a Finland-based company engaged in the publication, production and delivery
of news. The Company produces tabloid and broadsheet newspapers, with focus
on its main product, Keskisuomalainen, which is a national newspaper, published
seven days a week. As of December 31, 2009, it published two provincial
newspapers, two regional newspapers, 16 magazines and three local city
newspapers. The Company’s newspaper printing operations are carried out
through three main units located in Jyvaskyla, Kuopio and Pieksamaki. As
of December 31, 2009, Keskisuomalainen Oyj operated via 16 wholly owned
subsidiaries, comprising Iisalmen Sanomat Oy, Jakeluporras Oy, Kiinteisto
Oy Kuopion Vuorikatu 21, Kiinteisto Oy Tahko Twinhills 213, Jyvaskylan
Seudun Uutiset Oy and Kuopion Oikea Asema Oy, among others, as well as
via affiliated companies.
