two prospects. In addition, BlackRock has tested four more prospects on
the acreage with positive initial results.
Hilda Lake, Alberta
BlackRock operates a
Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (“SAGD”) heavy oil pilot project near Hilda
Lake,
Alberta, Canada. The pilot project has been successful and the Company
has filed an application to develop the property into a 20,000 barrel per
day operation. The commercial project is expected to recover over 190 million
barrels of heavy oil.
Lloydminster, Saskatchewan
Lloydminster is an established
conventional heavy oil operating region in Canada with several producers
active in the area. BlackRock has grown production from nil to 2,300 barrels
per day during the last three years we have been active in the area. The
area provides immediate cash flow to fund our capital expenditure programs.
