The Group's principal activity is biopharmaceutical development, specialising in human gene therapy. The Group's therapies utilise a therapeutic gene to correct the underlying genetic defects that cause metabolic disorders, ocular diseases and diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system. The Group is based in the Academic Medical Centre of the University of Amsterdam.
